Chosen the finalists of the greetings-card design competition from Paperworld 2018

  • Publicado el 11 de Diciembre de 2017

There was a double celebration on the occasion of this year`s meeting of the jury of the greetings-card design competition: in the first place, it is the 15th edition of the competition, which is organised by the German Association of Greetings Cards Manufacturers and Publishers (A.V.G.); secondly, the members of the jury were delighted with the 400-plus examples of modern greetings-card design entered.

Accordingly, the jury – made up of representatives of the industry, trade, design, trade media, associations, agencies and universities – had their hands full to select the most attractive greetings cards. This year, the motifs of the cards revolved around the subject of friendship with cards focusing on partnership and new phases of life being well represented.

Creative personalities, young talents and design students were invited to enter their greetings-card designs under the motto `Show us`. The condition for participation was that the haptic card be regained as the medium used. The judging criteria were craftsmanship, idea originality and presentation quality. After due consideration, the independent jury selected ten outstanding designs for the final round.

At Paperworld, the ten greetings-cards selected will be exhibited in the Greetings Cards Centre of Expertise in Hall 5.1 (Stand C81) from 27 to 30 January 2018. There, trade visitors will have the chance to vote for their favourite card motifs and thus help decide the winners, who will receive cash prices. Additionally, all finalists will be invited to Paperworld where they will have the chance to make initial contacts to greetings-card manufacturers.

The around 50 greetings-card manufacturers showing their products in Hall 5.1 offer participants and visitors the most extensive overview of the range of cards currently available in Germany and Europe. Thus, on the one hand, young designers will be introduced to the sector while, on the other hand, exhibitors and visitors will benefit from fresh impulses and ideas for their assortments.
